What is Concraft Camping Club

Concraft is a countrywide camping and caravan club which started in 1973 for owners of Concraft Trailer tents. These were real trailer tents i.e. a tent in a trailer so we were all ‘basic’ campers. Initially the club had well over 300 active members however when Concraft stopped making the units, members slowly dropped away leaving a ‘core’ who changed to other makes and eventually mostly caravans. As camping and caravanning regulations became more restrictive Concraft joined ACCEO under whose banner we now camp.

Our camping philosophy is ‘family’ without too many rules and regulations (other than normal Camping and Caravan Club guidelines such as no loud noise after 22.00 etc) and relative freedom with a preference for the less commercial of sites (electric hook ups if possible though). Albeit we do use commercial for late and early season camping.

We have regular (once a month) rallies during the year; April through end of November and have a regular two week holiday rally in August. Our geographical area is central to southern for weekends and national for the holidays. We try to have a camp fire wherever possible, barbecues and regular get togethers with simple entertainment in the form of a quiz, game or outings during the weekends. On the summer holiday rallies we organise days out, walks, picnics etc. Nothing particularly challenging and nothing is compulsory.
